Cypress owners point the truck down US 290 and across Beltway 8 for ECM tuning, turbo and towing work on Cummins, Power Stroke and Duramax diesels. Platform-specific, proven on the dyno.
Cypress is about 25 miles from downtown Houston, and most of its traffic points one way: down US 290.
That makes a drive to Westheimer Road feel familiar. Owners here already run the Northwest Freeway and Beltway 8 as part of an ordinary week, and our shop is a short extension of a trip many of them make anyway.
What the extension buys is specialization. We build only Cummins, Power Stroke and Duramax trucks and we finish every calibration on the dyno. For a diesel that has to commute, tow and stay reliable, that combination is hard to find closer to home.

The Cypress truck is a commuter with a second life. Weekdays belong to the freeway, and weekends belong to whatever is on the hitch. The work follows that rhythm:
Take US 290 southeast out of Cypress to Beltway 8, then follow Beltway 8 south to the Westheimer Road exit. Head east to 8840 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77063.
SH 249 and the Grand Parkway also feed Beltway 8 if you are coming from a different corner of Cypress.
Plan on roughly 30–40 minutes outside rush hour. US 290 is crowded at the commuting hours, so a mid-morning booking is the easy way in. Details are on the contact page.
US 290 does not stop at the Houston city limits. It runs northwest through Cypress toward Hempstead and eventually Austin, and that opens up a kind of driving most Houston suburbs do not get: long highway runs west and north with real distance in them.
For a diesel, that is a steady-load test. A truck that tows a trailer to Central Texas spends hours near its working temperature, and the margin between comfortable and overheated is set by the cooling system and the tune.
Around town, Cypress is a spread-out suburb of creek-side neighborhoods and long arterial roads, which means a lot of the week is short trips and lights. We plan for the commute and the trip west with the same calibration, and we say plainly where the two pull in different directions.

Cypress is one of the northwest towns on our list, along US 290 with Tomball a short way over on SH 249. Choose another city below to compare.
US 290 southeast to Beltway 8, then Beltway 8 south to the Westheimer Road exit and east to the shop. Outside rush hour, plan on roughly 30–40 minutes. SH 249 and the Grand Parkway are alternatives from other parts of Cypress.
Cooling and transmission temperatures first. A long steady run at highway speed holds an engine near its working temperature for hours, and margin there matters more than peak power. Then fuel supply, then the tune.
A well-built tune handles it. The aim is a truck that pulls away smoothly from a light and still has what it needs on the highway. Tell us how much of your driving is each, and we will weight it that way.
Not always. US 290 is the main line, but SH 249 and the Grand Parkway can help depending on where in Cypress you start. A mid-morning appointment skips most of the rush either way.
You already know the road. Choose a time below, and we will spend it on the truck: what you tow, how you drive and what you want from it.
"They pulled my truck three times to get the tune dialed. Never had a shop do that."
